Sylvester Weaver's 1923 recordings are credited as the first ever country blues records.
What few people realise is that the famous "Guitar Rag" track from that session (the one Leon Ames stole and released as "Steel Guitar Rag") was in fact played not on a guitar but on a guitar-banjo.
