Earl Scruggs played in Bill Monore's Bluegrass Boys until he joined up with Lester Flatt in 1948 to found the Foggy Mountain Boys. Since the 1950s Flatt and Scruggs has recorded many traditional bluegrass and mountain tunes, and Scrugg's intricate and flowing style has become more or less the standard for country and bluegrass banjo playing. But what is he doing here? Some of the early recordings Earl Scruggs did with the Bluegrass Boys are pure blues and well worth checking out for any blues enthusiast. | |||||||||||||||||||
