Apart from some traditional jazz musicians who sometimes touches the style, I don't know of anybody who actually plays the blues on the plectrum banjo.

That's really a pity, because it should be very well suited for the style. It has a somewhat mellower tone than the five-string banjo, and its tuning lends itself much better to combined chord/melodic playing than the tenor.
