The banjeaurine (also spelled banjeurine) is small five-string banjo tuned two whole notes higher than the standard five-stringer and with an extended fingerboard. It was used for playing the lead part in late 19th and early 20th Century banjo orchestras.

Today the word is sometimes used for pony banjos and A-scale banjos, but it is perhaps best to reserve the name for the old variant with the extended fingerboard.
